I am pleased to announce that the fourth edition of the Tour of Oman is now confirmed for 11-16 February 2013. Our objective back in 2010 was to create a new world class platform and pre-season training ground for competitive cycling and it is with great delight that we welcome the biggest names currently in cycling to take on the challenge of our dramatic landscape. It is a source of pride that this race keeps growing from strength to strength.

The Tour of Oman is more than just a pre-season race. Our population is young, bringing the top professionals of the sport to Oman to witness the speed, the team effort and the dedication required for their achievement is an ideal way to inspire these future generations. Jebel Akhdar will again push the riders to the limit, showcasing what determination and perseverance can achieve.

Our vision is for cycling to make a real contribution to social and economic progress within Oman and so we have again decided to combine the Tour with our annual Muscat cultural and heritage festival in order to create a platform to showcase our rich traditions and historical identity.

This event inspires us all and we warmly welcome these cycling heroes back to Oman.
